Nick presents the POTY certificate to Pete at the Anchor

The Kidderminster branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) presented their Pub of the Year Award for 2012 to the Anchor at Caunsall recently. The presentation was made to landlord Pete Green in the packed bar which resounded to the enthusiastic cheers of regulars and visitors. The Anchor is renowned for its community atmosphere, its famous cobs which people travel for miles to enjoy, lively banter and of course consistently fantastic real ales. The pub is a great credit to landlord and landlady Pete and Jeanette Green, and a deserving winner of the award.  (Written by Chairman, Nick Yarwood)

Most Improved Pub – 2011

Kidderminster Sub Branch of CAMRA is delighted to have presented to the The Hollybush its Most Improved Pub 2011 award.  Maggie Smith has worked at turning this pub into a delightful hostelry. In only two years she has assisted in putting Stourport on Severn on the real ale drinkers map, including gaining entry to the 2012 Good Beer Guide. Through hard work and dedication Maggie has turned The Hollybush into a thriving public house which can be found in Mitton Street. With a friendly atmosphere and good food we would recommend that you try this pub as you will not be disappointed with the welcome. Maggie currently has three  Black Country Real Ales and three Guest beers so you will always be spoiled for choice.
